Description
Children with autism who have a lack of or limited ability to communicate vocally will require an alternative form of communication. Selecting a system to use can be a difficult decision to make. “Selecting an Alternative Communication System” uses video examples and step-by-step instructions that illustrate the advantages of the two most common alternative communication choices so that parents can make an informed decision.
In this module we’ll cover these learning objectives:
- Determine if your child is a candidate for an alternative communication system.
- List three benefits of using an alternative communication system for a non-vocal child.
- Identify four important considerations for choosing an alternative communication system
